Peptidci

Peptitler (Grekçe: πεπτίδια; “küçük sindirilebilirler”) teşhismlanmış bir düzende, α-amino asitlerin birbirine demetlanmasıyla oluşan kesik polimerlerdir.[1] Bir amino hamız kalıntısı ile öbürü arasındaki bağ bir “amit bağ” yahut peptit bağı olarak bilinir.[1]

Tetrapeptit (Oligopeptit)
Proteinler polipeptit molekülleridir (yahut çok sayıda polipeptit madun birimi çitndırır). Temel üstelik peptitlerin kesik, polipeptitlerin/proteinlerin ise uzun olmasıdır.[1]

Protein sentezi sırasında her amino hamız, gayrı amino asite durmadan, kırılmayan bir polimer olan polipeptid zincirleriyle demetlanır. Polipeptid strüktürsına sertlan amino asitlerin her biri strüktürya peptid demetlarıyla demetlanır. Peptid bağının oluşumu sırasında amino asitlerden birinin amino grubu ile diğerinin karboksil grubu, aradan bir kez çıkması sonucu birleşirler.[1]

Yaklaşık bir polipeptit zinciri 450 amino asitten oluşur.[1] Bilinen en uzun polipeptit, ortalama 27,000 amino asitten oluşan, kas dokusunda kâin “titin”dir. Polipeptid zincirine sertlan amino asitlere kalıntı (residue) adı verilir.[1] Zincirin bir ucundaki kalıntı, bağ yapmamış, sere serpe amino grubu çitndırır ve N ucu olarak adlandırılır. Aynı şekilde zincirin gayrı ucundaki sere serpe α-karboksil grubu olan kalıntıevet C ucu adı verilir.
